Thank you for considering Construx for your building or renovation project! Construx General Contracting is a family-owned business in Southeastern Pennsylvania, owned & operated by brothers Rick & Tom Vandzura. We specialize in residential construction/remodeling and commercial tenant improvement projects. We have more than twenty years combined experience in the construction and remodeling industry. We’ve built our business on the same principles that have always guided our family: trust, partnership, authenticity and ethics, and we have built a reputation for honesty and excellence among our client base.

  • 2002

    Completed the first top-down renovation, a 3,080 sqft residence located at 23rd & Pine in Rittenhouse Square. Continued doing remodels until completing college at Penn State & Drexel University.

  • 2005

    Began separate jobs in commercial construction & manufacturing engineering at large firms to gain valuable experience in contracting & project management.

  • 2010

    Stepped away from jobs to officially start The Construx Group in downtown Philadelphia – just one truck, two brothers, and a lot of tools.

  • 2012

    Pursued industry safety training & certifications to better serve our customers – including OSHA safety, lead paint, and mold remediation.

  • 2014

    Constructed ‘The Bakeshop on 20th’ in Rittenhouse, which still fuels the crew while building nearby projects.

  • 2017

    Started an internal apprenticeship program to train interested candidates in the construction trades – carpentry, drywall, painting, electrical, & plumbing.

  • 2018

    Completed ‘Market on 9th’ in the Italian Market, an extension of restaurants by ‘Ralph’s Italian Restaurant’ progeny.

Our Process

01

Initial Meeting

Contact Construx to schedule an on site meeting to discuss your project.  During this phase, we begin to discuss multiple construction options as well as conceptualize your vision.  Our flexible schedule enables our team to meet at your convenience.

Project Drawings Plans

During this phase we begin to breakdown each element of the project. No detail is overlooked as we bring your vision to fruition. We coordinate and consult with architects as needed to provide unparalleled designs and integrity. This phase allows drawings to provide a better visualization of your ultimate constructions goals.

Job Estimation

After a thorough analysis of the project, an estimate is provided. This estimate is a calculated forecast of the cost of the building process, materials, and labor from start to finish. The proposal can be modified and adjusted as needed.

Finalization & Scheduling

Once you approve and finalize the contract, the project moves into the scheduling phase. Construx can now lay out a well defined timeline of the project process and begin to move forward. Payment for any custom-ordered materials may be collected, ensuring these items arrive in time to maintain the scheduled project timeline.

Execution

Regarded as our most rewarding step; this phase sees all of planning and drawings come to life. All aspects are executed as defined in the contract, according to schedule, and follow the architectural drawings. Our team takes much pride and satisfaction in the building process with every project.

Payment

A payment schedule will be arranged and implemented as described in the signed contract agreement.  All details are spelled out, making the entire payment process straight forward and fully transparent. An initial deposit is required for any custom orders as well as a portion of the overall job scope.
